- 🟢 Final update (unless something drastic changes) - I will be there tomorrow about 4:30-5:00 AM. We have a small window to fish before the wind picks up around 9:30. I plan on being back at the ramp no later than 9:30. It seems a front is moving in in the morning, and rain arrives around 10ish. Usually, the wind picks up with an approaching front so hopefully, we can just squeeze in that small window. We won't be far from the mouth, so that way we can jet back in in case the weather suddenly changes. Note: I've gone where the forecast was for 2-5 MPH wind, but it's blowing 15+ when I arrive. The Oregon coast is unpredictable, and we can only go by what the forecast says. So, just be aware of that if/when things change when we arrive.
- Update: 5/2, 11:57 AM - added the current wind forecast, see image below
- Update: 5/1, 1:24 PM - wind is not looking good. Gusty in the AM and only ramps up. NOAA and Surf Captain seem to show a lower reading.
Date: Friday, May 3rd.
Weather: 100% rain in the forecast
Wind: about 8-15 MPH in the AM

The swell forecast for this coming Friday looks good for a Depoe Bay rockfish trip in the kayak. If conditions hold, I am heading out with some friends. Feel free to come along.
This post will be updated as it gets closer, so check back often to see if it is cancelled.
Meet @ 5:00 AM. We launch about 5:45 (sunrise is @ 6:00 AM). Most likely, you will need a lot of prep time since it's a kayak, so be sure to arrive and set up early. The ramp can get busy.
